Wild & Beyond – Founded by Mansoor Ishaq
Avid 4×4 Adventurer · Explorer · Full-Time Overlander
Mansoor has had the adventure and travel bug in him ever since he was a young boy in Bishop Cotton Boys School in Bangalore. He was an avid sports person playing all games with his favourite being field hockey.
He was a cadet in the army wing of NCC through which he attended nearly all National Level Camps and was even selected to participate in the prestigious Republic Day Camp held at Delhi in January 1985.
From his younger days, he has always been fascinated by automobiles, adventure, camping, sports and everything outdoors. He loved getting together with fun loving, energetic souls and leading them to adventurous escapades around Bangalore.
Turning Point
In 2011, after over two decades in the corporate world, he decided to follow his true calling and brought to end a memorable phase of his life, to begin another – one in which he would be free to pursue it without any inhibitions or financial compulsions; one that wouldn’t be decided by the income potential or the heroism associated with a specific role and position.
The Overland Life
Mansoor has now crossed 12 years of being on the road for about 250 days each year, thus proving that his energy, fitness, and survival skills match his drive for overland travel.
He spends about:
- 3–4 months of the year in Rajasthan, Kashmir, Ladakh, Himachal
- 3–4 months in the North East, Nepal, and Bhutan
- 3–4 months in the Western Ghats of India
His safety record and driving skills across challenging terrains, seasons, and conditions have been exemplary, whether he is driving a four-wheeler or a twenty-two-wheeler.
Travel Experience & Knowledge
He has backpacked, hitchhiked and driven the length and breadth of India many times over in different 4×4 SUVs & Pickup Trucks.
He has good insight of:
- The geography
- The culture
- The people
- Various wildlife sanctuaries and national parks in the country
He has gained a fair bit of insight into the way of life in different regions, and has established good connects with:
- Unsung heroes of the land
- People pursuing alternative lifestyles
- Locals with deep knowledge
- Seasoned world travellers
- Royals who have given up their lifestyle to live on the edge of the wild
The Birth of Wild & Beyond
In 2013, he wanted to formalise sharing his travel experiences with select special interest groups, and to support local communities so he started an exclusive travel venture called Wild & Beyond
Today
Mansoor is loved by many as he is a captivating storyteller.
Today, even after 25+ years of travelling, you will find him to be the most excited person at the start of any short or long tour.
He derives enormous satisfaction in getting people outdoors and motivating them through travel.

Through word of mouth, he has a small but growing list of Domestic & International clients for whom he does India Travel Consulting and curates custom experiential tours for them.
He leverages his personal travel experiences and local connects across India to lead tours and arrange unique excursions or getaways for those who love to travel, explore and listen to the tales of the land.
